I just wanted to pop in and tell you all what a great place this forum is.

I have recently been occupying another forum. It's not doxies, but made for another breed of dog. I am just shocked at how mean people are to each other there! A few weeks ago some poor girl came on and asked for some training advice and instead of helping they flamed her for ever buying the dog. When I made the comment that they could teach a person more by being nice to them I was told she needed to toughen up and if I didn't like it I could leave.

The whole thing was quite shocking to me that it was acceptable to treat people that way on a board. I realized how spoiled I was from being a member of this board. You all are such a great community of open minded helpful people. I almost sent a few of of the poor flamed newbies from the other board this way but I didn't think Brandy would appreciate the flood of non doxie owners asking how to do things with their non doxie dogs.

Anyway thank you all for being nice to each other, open minded and helpful.

I still have my doxies so I'm going to just talk about my "other" breed here too and you all are just going to have to put up with it, cause you scare me lots less then they do. I'm never going anywhere else again.

HI Deanna! I'm a member of that forum too, lol, I recognized you from here when you started posting. I'm constantly shocked by what they say... it seems if a new person comes on asking for advice they get flammed but if it's a regular with the same situation it's not as bad.

This is an awesome place to gather info and share I have tried other forums too and usually get put off on how cruel and accusatory people can be ....out of the thousands of forums out there there are only a handful that I will visit anymore because of the insensitivity of people on a regular basis (I understand having a bad day, stressed, time of month etc )

We have our members and especially moderators to thank for making this an awesome place and keeping things civil so everyone can learn

Thank you. I have only been a member here and one other doxie forum, but I didn't stay at the other doxie forum because I liked this one better and I only have time to keep up with one. I guess I'm spoiled by the way Brandy runs things here, I think she would have most those people out on their ear. I think I have been there for two months and I think they run some poor new person off on a weekly basis. That poor army wife though, I couldn't believe how hurtful they were to her and that the moderators condoned it. It just broke my heart.

I thought I was going to stick it out there but my husband who reads over my shoulder finally said "you know you wouldn't surround yourself with people like that in real life, don't put up with it there. You don't need that kind of negativity."

He is totally right, I don't need it. I feel bad for all those people who are looking for help only to be run off. I can only hope they can find the support they need someplace else.

The army wife did take her pup to OB class and said he did great. She also ordered those gates I told her about. She PMed me to thank me for my help and to let me know she was never coming back. Brandy said I could invite her here so maybe I'll drop her a PM just in case she ever checks back in there again.



Brandi and the moderators do a great job here. The members here are all such nice people that even when there are spats that pop up they are still usually not deliberately cruel to each other, and esp not to some poor person they haven't hardly had the chance to welcome yet. I think I'll just let this be my one and only dog forum from now on.

All I can say is " bout time" you wised up & came home!

Champdogs in the UK have some unbelievable folk on there, I joined when I was getting ready to do my first mating but never started a thread because anyone who was thinking of breeding was given an awful time, rightly so in some cases but they were no better with those who had done their homework first, it was if you were stealing their customers by producing pups too regardless of the breed you were involved with, I only check the list of mini long breeders now and don't use the forum bit.

I don't know you but hi and welcome back!

Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents to how appalled I've become on forums, etc. where people meet and converse online. People seem to forget the very first rule we learned in kindergarten; respect. It just amazes me more and more every day and I know a lot of it has to do with my generation. (The 20 somethings who've been raised on technology) It makes me incredibly sad.

But! There are a handful of places, like here, that seem to be full of fairly genuine and respectful folks. I think I've only ever once seen a tizzy break out here and it was rectified in a quick and respectful manner. Not everyone agrees on things after all. There's a theory out now called the Internet Dickwad Theory where normal person+ anomity+ an audience= a total dickwad. It seems to be an ever growing prevalence.

EITHER OR, glad you're back, hope to read many-a-post from you!

Here spats are a rarity, there rudeness seemed to be the fundamental way of life. If you don't train like they do, feed like they do, crate like they do......

I have enough bad things in my life. I come to the Internet to enjoy the company of others who share my interests, but I have no interest in pounding down the moral of some poor soul that doesn't know as much as I do just because I can.

So I'll just come back to my happy place. You all always make me feel so welcome.
